²⁸ And they sounded and found it to be twenty fathoms. And when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it to be fifteen fathoms.

²⁹ Then, fearing they would have fallen into some rough places, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day to come.

³⁰ Now as the sailors were about to escape the ship, and had let down the skiff into the sea, under a pretense of casting anchors from the bow,
